Mary Elizabeth Caruso of Memphis, TN passed away Wednesday, April 17, 2024 just short of her 81st birthday.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Harper and Norma Riggs, and her husband of 53 years, Richard J. Caruso. She is survived by her son, Mario Caruso (Janice), grandchildren, Amber Caruso and Richard A. Caruso, sisters, Peggy Cleveland and JoAnn Rhue, sister-in-law, Roxanna Croxdale as well as all of her nephews who she adored.

After graduating Memphis Technical High School, Mary worked for RCA, J.I. CASE and then Complex Tool & Die until retirement. Never able to stay idle, her love of cooking for others led her to the Deli at The Minit Stop. She was well-known by all of her customers as "Miss Mary" in her bright, decorative hats with a smile and likely a story. Miss Mary's regulars enjoyed her delicious breakfast biscuits while Nana's family always requested her chocolate pies and enormous meatballs for every occasion. Mary truly lived her life by one of her favorite quotes "beauty is as beauty does."

A private ceremony will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
